He will support Amy Macdonald at her Guildhall Square show on June 12.
Hailing from Fife, Barnes is known for blending country songwriting with Scottish traditional music, and rose to prominence with his UK Top 40 single Whiskey Roll.

The show is part of the third annual edition of the Southampton Summer Sessions, which will once again transform Guildhall Square into a live music hub over three weeks.
A full line-up of international and UK artists has been confirmed by promoters.
