Charlie Smith: Alternative Singer-Songwriter from Romsey Announces New Album and UK Tour

Hello,

My name might be common, but my style is alternative. I’m Charlie Smith, an alternative singer-songwriter from Romsey, Hampshire. I perform solo (acoustic guitar & vocals) and have experience playing and hosting my own independent shows at venues such as The Railway Inn, Flack Manor Brewery, and The Platform Tavern. I am super passionate about grassroots music and regularly participate in action to grow my local scene. Fiercely independent, I record and produce all my music with a true DIY ethos. In April, I hosted six gigs in England as part of my music venue trust fundraiser tour. I managed to fundraise £575, including events in Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool & Leicester.

The 8th of September marks the release of my 12-track alternative second album, ‘When I grow up I don’t want to be anything at all‘. Featuring completely stripped-back acoustic songs to full-on heavy grunge tracks. Heavily inspired by punk and freedom of expression. Raw and hard-edged recording techniques used to match song topics and themes. Uncut and unfiltered sounds. Mastered by untapped talent based in Southampton.

To support my upcoming album, I will be touring England from September to November. I will also be fundraising for the Music Venue Trust by donating £1 from every album sale to support the vital work that they do. The dates are as follows;
9th September – The Vic, Derby
10th September – Northern Guitars, Leeds
12th September – Daliz, Salisbury
13th September – The Factory, Worthing
2nd October – The Loft, Southampton
22nd October – Kola, Portsmouth
1st November – The Railway Inn, Winchester
24th November – Hope & Anchor, London
27th November – Holloway, Norwich
Cheers,
Charlie
