SUMMARY:Singer-songwriter Jesca Hoop + Nadia Reid (support)
DESCRIPTION:Singer songwriter Jesca Hoop performs at Turner Sims  + support from Nadia Reid \nCalifornia born\, Manchester based singer-songwriter Jesca Hoop comes to Southampton for the first time on Saturday 21 November 8pm \nDiscovered by Tom Waits and brought on tour by Peter Gabriel to sing in his band\, it was Elbow’s Guy Garvey who persuaded her to move to the UK from her Californian home. Her artful\, indie folk balances gorgeously quirky melodies and with straight to the heart vocals revealing the influence of Joni Mitchel\, Paul Simon and Vashti Bunyan. \nSince moving to the UK\, Hoop has forged a strong friendship with Winchester’s Kate Stables (This Is The Kit)and it was with Jesse D. Vernon of This is the Kit that she produced her seventh album Long Wave Home. And there are definite similarities in the sound world with This is the Kit. \nReleased in April 2026\, it has been garnering 4 star reviews such as Mojo’s “Soaring vocal harmonies reminiscent of The Roches at their exhilarating best… .” and Record Collector’s “… lush\, woody\, and rich in unexpected details.” \nJesca Hoop supported by gorgeous New Zealand singer-songwriter Nadia Reid\, also a recent Manchester incomer who The Guardian described as “soulful and rich. I feel thrilled for all the music they will make over the years to come.” \n
