ᎷᎪᎡᏟᎻ + ᏴᏞᎥᏃᏃᎪᏒᎠ | Live Zoom gig from March & Clayton Blizzard
June 12 @ 20:30
Seven years has passed since Clayton Lawrence Blizzard the first – singer, MC, poet, agitator – graced our upstairs gallery space with one of the most memorable gigs we’ve held there. We are made up that he’s back tonight in your telly room on your electric screens.
An acoustic Folk Rapper, beguiling of lyric and intricate of instrumentation, Blizzard mashes Folk and Hip Hop like the long-lost cousins they are seeing (and showing) that the characteristics are the same, even though the accents are different.
Watch “New Strings On An Old Guitar”
“…Mesmerising stage presence…Clayton Blizzard is a troubadour, an alchemist, a wizard…as well as possessing a mercurial mind, Blizzard is a consummate guitarist and extraordinary vocalist. His poetic artistry takes the form of peculiarly entrancing ballads that effortlessly transform into rap…” – pressreleaserocket.net
March, formerly Kitty O’Neal, is an artist with folk, indie and experimental influences which she blends to create a unique pool of smooth layered vocals, weaving guitar melodies and catchy hooks.
Watch “Wear Me Down”
“Stunning, ethereal sounds crafted around thought-provoking lyrics. March is a gifted songwriter and has a voice you will want to listen to again and again.” – Stephanie Newenhouse (BBC Introducing Solent)
“Her ear for an irresistible pop hook allows her to build something joyful, hopeful and undeniably catchy. It’s a sign of a great songwriter when we find ourselves clicking play for the fifth time in a row.” – Folkroom Records
“Tender and vibrant songs, with a dreamlike edge. Hauntingly beautiful” – Chris Riddell (illustrator and writer)
“Around the autobiographical grit of life, she builds melodic pearls. Her silvery vocals twist their way into your subconscious so that you find her words and tunes continue to haunt you.” – Stuart Ffoulkes (Gig-goer)
